Curtis, Brinckerhoff & Barrett<\/strong> enjoys the reputation of being one of the oldest known and respected law firms in Fairfield County.\u00a0 It was originally founded by Julius B. Curtis (1825-1906), who was admitted to the ![\"\"](\"http:\/\/cbb.synergyis.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/julius-b-curtis.jpg\")
Bar in 1850, practiced in Greenwich for some fifteen years and then opened an office for the practice of law in Stamford in the year 1864. His career included service as Judge of Probate for the Borough of Stamford, State Senator and ex-officio member of the Corporation of Yale ![\"\"](\"http:\/\/cbb.synergyis.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/louis-curtis.jpg\")
College. Judge Curtis was joined by his son, Louis J. Curtis (1868-1942), who after graduating from Yale College and New York Law School was admitted to the Bar in 1892, at which time the firm was renamed Curtis & Curtis. Louis J. Curtis served as Corporation Counsel for the City of Stamford, a representative in the state legislature, and one of the founders of The Fidelity Trust Company in 1919, and served in that capacity until the year 1940, at which time he became Chairman of the Board.<\/p>\n

<\/td>\nJames E. Brinckerhoff<\/strong> (1883-1958) was graduated from Yale Law School in 1904, and joined Curtis & Curtis in 1905. In 1908 he became a partner of Louis J. Curtis, forming the firm of Curtis and Brinckerhoff. He served as City Court Judge, as well as being an active member of many philanthropic organizations within the city.<\/td>\n ![\"\"](\"http:\/\/cbb.synergyis.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/FrankPBarrett-192x300.jpg\")
<\/td>\nFrank P. Barrett<\/strong> (1893-1970) attended the University of Virginia, graduated from Catholic University Law School, joined the firm of Curtis & Brinckerhoff in 1917, and became a partner in the year of 1928, when the firm assumed its present name of Curtis, Brinckerhoff & Barrett. Mr. Barrett, as were his two partners, was active in politics, having served on the Town Planning and Zoning Commission and various social agencies within the community. He was also a Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors of The Fidelity Trust Company, hence continuing the firm\u2019s close relationship with that organization.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n \n
